Topic Brainstorm - Week 3

I've decided it would be fun to do a Doctor Who storybook, and because of this decision I'll want to have the Doctor go on different adventures and experience different story lines. I would like the Doctor to have run-ins with multiple gods and goddesses. For example: Krishna, Vishnu, Shiva, Brahma, and Lakshmi. They are some of the main gods in Hinduism  and would be interesting to create adventures alongside the Doctor. My previous knowledge of the gods include my world religions class where we studied Hinduism. I think retelling the story of Krishna and Jarasandha: Krishna Outsmarts His Fiercest Adversary with the Doctor meddling would be exciting. Another fun story would be The Tale of Shiva: The Mighty Lord of Kailasa because having the Doctor interfere with battles and marriages would be exactly something the Doctor would do if he found himself stuck in that time period. Arjuna is another character is the The Tale of Shiva that I would like to explore with the story. A third possible story I would like to retell is Krishna and the False Vasudeva. Elopements and supernatural revenge would be another entertaining story to have the Doctor get tangled up in. Since these stories all have some sort of moral to them, it would tie in perfectly to what the Doctor stands for. Lastly, Tales of Arjuna: The Exploits of an Exceptional Warrior, would make for another great story to retell. I really liked Arjuna's tale from what I learned in my World Religions class and I would enjoy learning even more about Arjuna's life and turning it into an adventure with the Doctor, possibly a modern one.

Growth Mindset: Cats

Using the randomizer I found a couple of cats that I really liked either because they were cute, funny, relatable, or all of the above! The first one was adorable and very accurate. I've found the more I write the better I get at it, especially when it comes to my personal statements. The second meme made me laugh. I've always been a goal setter and while it can be sad to miss your goal it's good to even get close to reaching it because there is always next time! Cat Meme 1 Cat Meme 2

Reading Notes: Narayan's Ramayana, Section C

This section picks up where B left off, Sita being captured by Ravana. I like that he came to her disguised as a hermit, it reminded me of when the evil queen came to snow white to get her to eat the poisoned apple. I think it would be really fun to make this into a sort of fairytale story, since Ravana can transfigure himself into different creatures. I could have him transform into a dragon and have Rama slay the "dragon" in order to get Sita back. Surgiva could be his trusted ally after finding Sita's jewelry. It could turn into an epic adventure where they cross an ocean, among other things in order to finally get to Sita. I really like this idea of a fairytale retelling of Rama saving Sita.
