My Time Strategies

As a person I am super organized, I keep two separate calendars and check them constantly, along with my email because I'm always worried I will forget a deadline or miss an important event. Part of the reason I am so organized is because I have so much going on between school, work, outside organizations, and having a social life, it can get pretty stressful if I don't stay on top of it all. For that reason I really like having create a weekly schedule that shows me what I need to do each day to complete all my assignments for the week on time. One of the most effective time strategies I use is setting certain times I need to do things. For example, I schedule everything from when I'm going to cook to when I'll work on homework, that way I make sure I'm utilizing my time to the best of my ability so I can have fun - the old saying is very true "work hard, play hard". I really enjoyed the article about building a realistic study plan because without building study blocks it is very easy to become overwhelmed with school. I definitely agree with checking off goals, I always make a list of everything I need to get done for the day, even if it's something simple because then I feel good about just checking something off. By the end of the day, when I look at all those checked boxes I feel like I had a productive day and that I got a lot accomplished!

Growth Mindset: Cats

Using the randomizer I found a couple of cats that I really liked either because they were cute, funny, relatable, or all of the above! The first one was adorable and very accurate. I've found the more I write the better I get at it, especially when it comes to my personal statements. The second meme made me laugh. I've always been a goal setter and while it can be sad to miss your goal it's good to even get close to reaching it because there is always next time! Cat Meme 1 Cat Meme 2

Reading Notes: Narayan's Ramayana, Section C

This section picks up where B left off, Sita being captured by Ravana. I like that he came to her disguised as a hermit, it reminded me of when the evil queen came to snow white to get her to eat the poisoned apple. I think it would be really fun to make this into a sort of fairytale story, since Ravana can transfigure himself into different creatures. I could have him transform into a dragon and have Rama slay the "dragon" in order to get Sita back. Surgiva could be his trusted ally after finding Sita's jewelry. It could turn into an epic adventure where they cross an ocean, among other things in order to finally get to Sita. I really like this idea of a fairytale retelling of Rama saving Sita.
