Topic Brainstorm - Week 3

Continuing with my Doctor Who storybook idea I'll be exploring other Indian Epic stories that the Doctor could get himself entangled in. First, I found the Sons of Rama: Luv and Kush - The Invincible Twins and thought it would be a fun story. I could have the two twins and monkey become his companion for a time where they defeat Rama's brother Shatrughna when he attempts to recapture the sacred horse. Mahiravana - A Magician Outwitted is another story I could have a fun time retelling and watching the bad magician be defeated by the Doctor instead of Hanuman. For the third story I found to retell is Dasharatha: The Story of Rama's Father. This story is another variation of Narayan's Ramanana where Rama is exiled. I think it would be interesting to have the Doctor in on his exile and the many encounters they could run in to. Lastly, I really enjoyed reading Abhimanyu - Star Crossed Prince, being Arjuna's son and watching the Doctor try and help him when his battle against Drona without violence and the Doctor having to struggle with it being necessary would be an interesting situation to write about. I think I would make the Doctor's companions all of the main characters of each of the stories and he would travel around and end up coming in, in the middle of the battle or in the middle the climax of the story and he has to figure out how to save everyone.

Growth Mindset: Cats

Using the randomizer I found a couple of cats that I really liked either because they were cute, funny, relatable, or all of the above! The first one was adorable and very accurate. I've found the more I write the better I get at it, especially when it comes to my personal statements. The second meme made me laugh. I've always been a goal setter and while it can be sad to miss your goal it's good to even get close to reaching it because there is always next time! Cat Meme 1 Cat Meme 2

Growth Mindset Cats Edition!

I haven't done a growth mindset all semester so I figured I should go ahead and do one :) Here are my three favorite cat memes from Pinterest! The reason I like the first on is because I definitely relate to the study hard and then take a break. I do it all the time and seeing a cute kitten napping is just adorable. The second one really spoke to me about getting my homework and grad school applications done in a timely manner. It's been difficult balancing everything and still having a life. (I go out of town almost every week so I have to finish everything by Thursday, typically.)  However, I think I've done a good job at making sure when I'm working I'm actually working and being effective. The last one relates back to my grad applications. I've had multiple revisions on my personal statement, but it's been good for me to receive feedback so that I can make my statement the best it can be. Meme 1 Meme 2 Meme 3
