Last fall I took a world religions class in which we learned about Hinduism so I am familiar with the Mahabharata and the Ramayana, and because of my background I am interested in Krishna as well as Arjuna from the Bhagavad Gita. After researching some of the comic books I found a few that really caught my attention.

Tales of Arjuna: The Exploits of an Exceptional Warrior
I liked how the first story was about teaching humility. I found the last story of the comic very interesting about the man having lost his 9 out of his 10 sons and seeking Arjuna's help to protect his last son from death. This is another story about humility.

Krishna and Jarasandha: Krishna Outsmarts His Fierce Adversary

I found this comic book interesting as well because I love a good villain and battle with a god, who happens to be Krishna as well Arjuna being a supporting character in helping Krishna defeat his mortal enemy.

The Sons of Rama: Luv and Kush - The Invincible Twins

This was another intriguing comic book because its the story of a man reuniting with his sons who become powerful warriors and they have a weird reunion to say the least with his father inadvertently trying to kill them.

Growth Mindset: Cats

Using the randomizer I found a couple of cats that I really liked either because they were cute, funny, relatable, or all of the above! The first one was adorable and very accurate. I've found the more I write the better I get at it, especially when it comes to my personal statements. The second meme made me laugh. I've always been a goal setter and while it can be sad to miss your goal it's good to even get close to reaching it because there is always next time! Cat Meme 1 Cat Meme 2

Reading Notes: Narayan's Ramayana, Section C

This section picks up where B left off, Sita being captured by Ravana. I like that he came to her disguised as a hermit, it reminded me of when the evil queen came to snow white to get her to eat the poisoned apple. I think it would be really fun to make this into a sort of fairytale story, since Ravana can transfigure himself into different creatures. I could have him transform into a dragon and have Rama slay the "dragon" in order to get Sita back. Surgiva could be his trusted ally after finding Sita's jewelry. It could turn into an epic adventure where they cross an ocean, among other things in order to finally get to Sita. I really like this idea of a fairytale retelling of Rama saving Sita.
